Parent/Carer Training and Workshops

Information and training opportunities are offered through a parent/carer workshop amme. Our training and workshop offer enables families to develop their knowledge and understanding of strategies and approaches that support their young people within a school setting, and develop these appropriately for use at home with the support and advice of our professionals.

The parent/carer training platform is also used to increase understanding of our Fordwater Aims Curriculum.  We are able to offer focussed sessions for Parents and Carers that explain specific areas of our curriculum in more depth.  For example, this has included a series of Relationships, Health Sexual Education workshops, that have offered information about the teaching of this area and has shared helpful advice and resources.

Allowing home and school to work together in this way, is highly effective in improving outcomes for our young people by providing consistency in approach.
