Dear All

I am writing to inform you that we have had a confirmed case of Covid-19 amongst the staff team in Fordwater.

The school have been in contact with the DfE and the Local Health Protection Team and followed all guidance given.

I wish to reassure you that the staff member with the positive test has not been directly in contact with the pupils, however we have had to take the following actions:

  1. We have had to ask a number of specific staff to isolate on the direction of the Local Health Protection Team. We will therefore need to operate differently next week to ensure the health and safety of the whole school community.
  2. Fordwater will be closed to all pupils and class staff on Monday 9th November.
  3. Tuesday 10th November school will be open to Pod 1 (Starfish, Ladybirds, Caterpillars, Butterflies and Bumblebees) and Pod 3 (Tigers, Tiger Cubs and Lions) only.
    Wednesday 11th November school will be open to Pod 2 (Flamingos, Owls, Panthers, Dolphins and Otters) and Pod 4 (Eagles, Merlins, Kestrels and Ospreys) only.
    Thursday 12th November school will be open to Pod 1 (Starfish, Ladybirds, Caterpillars, Butterflies and Bumblebees) and Pod 3 (Tigers, Tiger Cubs and Lions) only.
    Friday 13th November school will be open to Pod 2 (Flamingos, Owls, Panthers, Dolphins and Otters) and Pod 4 (Eagles, Merlins, Kestrels and Ospreys) only.

At this stage we hope that this schedule will only be required for next week.

The senior team will be in communication next week with any further updates we will also be contacting Transport with the change of times.

We will continue to take advice from our Local Health Protection Team and the West Sussex County Council Local Authority as appropriate.

Please respect sensitivity and confidentiality for this valued member of staff. We ask you not to share this information on social media, in line with school policy.

I understand that some of you may be anxious to receive this information but can I please reassure you all that the health and safety of everyone is our priority and we have taken all appropriate actions required.
