Summer Term 2017Posted on: 16/05/2017
Welcome to the Summer Term at Fordwater.
The summer term is starting with the celebration of '50 Years of Fordwater’. Fordwater was opened on April 20th 1967 as a Training Centre. It wasn’t until September 1973 that Fordwater became a school. We are celebrating our 50 year anniversary by all dressing in either 1960’s costumes or 1960’s characters, the day includes a fashion parade, a party with 60’s style food, burying a time capsule and finishing with a 1960’s music disco. The photographs should be available for you to view soon.
The PTFA are busy planning the May Fayre on the 20th May 2.00 – 4.00, do come and join us there will be plenty to keep the whole family entertained and many things to buy, including our incredibly popular plant stall.
We are going to hold our first ever ‘Charity Week’ from Monday 22nd May, an idea developed by the school council who are busy coming up with lots of fund raising initiatives, more details to follow soon.
The summer term is always busy with Sports week, the Prom, the Leavers Awards Evening and the Secondary Department residential.
We look forward to seeing you all at some of our many events.
